Arc flash & PPE assessment

Arc-flash incident-energy studies with clear PPE recommendations.

Overview

Arc flash & PPE assessment

We assess arc-flash incident energy and PPE.

Labels and boundaries are produced.

Arc flash & PPE assessment
What it covers

Scope in detail

Incident energy

Incident energy

Incident energy at every equipment location assessed is calculated using IEEE 1584 methodology, based on the actual fault current and clearing time at that specific point in the system — measured or modelled from the existing protection settings — rather than a blanket assumption applied across the whole facility.

Boundaries

Boundaries

Arc flash and approach boundaries are calculated for each location assessed, establishing the safe working distances that determine what precautions are required for different categories of work near energised equipment, consistent with the incident energy analysis behind them.

Labels

Labels

Warning labels are generated and can be prepared for installation at every assessed location, showing incident energy, boundary distances and PPE category in the field-ready format personnel need at the point of work, replacing outdated or missing labels found during the audit.

PPE

PPE

PPE categories are assigned from the calculated incident energy against the governing standard's PPE tables, giving the client's safety team a clear, code-referenced basis for the protective equipment required at each location, and we flag locations where the calculated energy is high enough to warrant engineering controls.
