Energy yield modelling

Detailed energy-yield modelling in industry-standard software.

Overview

Energy yield modelling

We model plant energy yield in industry-standard tools.

Every loss mechanism is represented.

What it covers

Scope in detail

Yield model

Yield model

We build the energy yield model in industry-standard software — PVsyst for solar, WindPRO or equivalent for wind — configured with the site-specific resource data, layout and equipment characteristics rather than generic defaults. Model configuration choices that materially affect the output — horizon shading, wake models, loss factors — are documented so the basis for the yield figure is transparent and auditable.

Loss chain

Loss chain

The full loss chain from resource to delivered energy is accounted for explicitly — soiling, shading, wake effect, electrical losses, availability, curtailment — rather than folded into a single blanket derate factor that obscures which losses actually matter for this specific site. Itemising the loss chain also makes it possible to identify where design changes could meaningfully improve yield.

Scenarios

Scenarios

We model alternative layout and configuration scenarios — different panel tilt or turbine spacing, alternative inverter or turbine models — so the client can see the yield trade-off between options before committing to a final layout, rather than modelling only the option already selected. Scenario comparisons are presented on a consistent basis so they're genuinely comparable.

Yield output

Yield output

The modelled energy yield is delivered as a full annual and monthly profile, not just a single annual figure, since monthly shape matters for revenue modelling, grid compliance and, for hybrid or storage projects, dispatch optimisation. Output is provided in a format that plugs directly into the client's financial model rather than requiring reformatting.
